UK vegan chocolate firm awarded £10,000 grant
British vegan chocolate company Brontie & Co has been awarded a £10,000 prize by FedEx Express in the second Small Business Grant Contest in the UK.
Brontie & Co, which produces vegan artisan chocolate, vegan hot chocolate and coffee alternatives, using organic, fair trade cacao, won the runner-up prize.
The contest rewards entrepreneurial businesses who aspire to go global and employ up to 99 employees. To win the cash prize, they were judged against criteria that included sales growth, strategic vision for the company and how the business is supporting the local community and environment.
The CEO and chocolate maker at Brontie & Co, says, “This large sum of money will make a huge difference to our business, allowing us to kick-start our growth and begin exporting around the world. We truly believe we can provide a healthy version of chocolate, but still ensure it tastes great.”
