Haribo boosts sour range with Rhubarb & Custard splat

Haribo has added a new Rhubarb and Custard Splat version to its sour Tangfastics range for a limited period of time during the sour category’s most popular season. The sweets will be available in 235g sharing bags price marked at £1.

Gemma Hicks, marketing manager, comments, “As the sun shines and temperatures rise so does the sale of our sour treats. Through Haribo Tangfastics featuring Rhubarb and Custard, retailers can capitalise upon a key trend for the summer whilst meeting consumer demand for a brand new sour flavour combination. Rhubarb and Custard, a flavour trialed and chosen by the Haribo fan club, is a real taste of summer and definitely adds an exciting mix to the treats already found in our most popular sour product.”

 The Rhubarb and Custard splat is the second taste of summer treat from Haribo, the UK’s leading gums and jellies brand which has grown by 37.7% in value sales since 2009. Haribo also launched Strawbs and Cream in June.

HARIBO Tangfastics will also be supported by through the line activities including TV, cinema and radio advertising. ‘It’s HARIBO Funtime’, HARIBO’s biggest ever experiential campaign, will also feature the brands top selling sour treat. The HARIBO team will be travelling the country in a brightly branded 4×4 vehicle, distributing samples. For a limited one hour of each day, ‘Splat Hour’ will be dedicated to Rhubarb and Custard splats.   

Tangfastics form part of Haribo’s sour, acidulated treats that also include Sour Cherries, Super Sour Monsters and Fizzy Cola.
