Palmer and Harvey charity event raises funds for riot-hit shops

The ‘Curry on Laughing’ charity event, organised by wholesaler Palmer and Harvey, has raised £13,000 for retailers hit by the riots in the UK.

430 people attended the fundraising comedy night with all proceeds going to Sweet Charity and its emergency riot fund for independent retailers.

Richard Hayhoe, marketing director at Palmer and Harvey, says, “As the largest wholesaler in the UK, we want to use our influence and scale to bring together people throughout the retail industry and help to make a difference and get these businesses back up and running again quickly.”
