Maynards Bassetts introduces bagged candy range

Mondelēz International owned brand Maynards Bassetts has launched a new range of 70g confectionery bags in a bid to attract younger consumers to the category.
Available in 70g non price-marked packs and £0.50 PMPs, the five packs feature different flavours and shapes – Beaming Beasts Jellies (fruit flavoured animals), Cheery Slices Gummies (watermelon slices), Silly Snakes Jellies, Chuckle Drops Gummies (sour gummies) and Straw’Merries Jellies.
The new range aims to attract the younger generation to the category, with the smile graphics designed to encourage consumers to get interactive with their packs.
Claire Molyneux, marketing manager for candy at Mondelēz International, says, “Small bags is a growing category and soft jelly leads candy with a 51.3% share, making it a great opportunity for retailers.
“Our new range aims to recruit younger consumers to the category with a variety of shapes and flavours unique to the current Maynards Bassetts range. What’s more, the packs can be folded and the smiles graphic placed in front of the mouth to create a silly face, bringing more shareable fun to the experience.”
