A stir for hot chocolate sector

House of Dorchester is expanding its stir in hot chocolate spoons range, with three new flavours.
Orange, marshmallow and chocolate fudge flavours will initially be distributed through 256 Asda stores from the end of March. Priced at £0.98 per unit, the range is presented in flow wrapped packaging featuring eye catching visual references to each of the flavours.
Commenting on the launch, Julian Clarke, House of Dorchester business development manager says, “With a heritage of chocolate making in excess of forty years it is only natural for the brand to diversify into other chocolate related markets and to capitalise on the impressive performance of the hot chocolate category – which showed a 6.7% value / 8% volume growth in 2010/2011. We are delighted with the response to our Chocolate Larder concept and in particular to the stir in hot chocolate products which offer consumers a luxury hot chocolate experience at an affordable price point. We believe our British brand status combined with our authentic ‘made in Britain’ credentials will represent an increasingly significant purchasing trigger, especially during a year when the British buying public is heavily immersed in celebrating all that is British as a result of the Diamond Jubilee and London 2012.”
