Raisio buy Big Bear for €95.3m

7 February 2011 – Finnish food company Raisio is to acquire British snacks and confectionery company Big Bear Group for €95.3 million.
According to Raisio, the purchase makes the UK is largest food market with estimated net sales of €140-150 million after it bought snack producer Glisten in 2010.
Big Bear Group had net sales of €65.1 million and an operational profit of €12.1 million in fiscal 2009/10, ended 31 August. It owns the snack bars Harvest Cheweee and Fox’s confectionery as well as breakfast brands Honey Monster, Honey Waffles and Sugar Puffs.
