Tennis star promotes sweets

Tennis star Maria Sharapova is believed to be temporarily changing her name to Sugarpova – the name of her premium range of sweets – for two weeks during the US Open.
If successful, the move will draw international attention to the confectionery line, which includes gummy, fizzy, sweet, gumball and sour sweets that are fashioned into a range of shapes such as tennis balls, bears, shoes, sunglasses, lips, sea creatures and fruits.
Chandresh Patel, managing director of Empire Foodbrokers Ltd, the exclusive distributors of Sugarpova in the UK, said: “Following the successful listing of Sugarpova in Selfridges earlier this year, we anticipate this latest PR move will drive further demand and excitement around the range, which is now available to all retailers.”
Aimed to reflect Maria Sharapova’s fun and bubbly personality, the different varieties include Cheeky, Chic, Quirky, Sporty, Spooky sour, Smitten sour, Splashy, Silly, Silly sour, Sassy sour, Flirty and Flirty sour. They have a RRP of £3.99.
Maria Sharapova comments: “It has been so fun creating my dream candy line. I can’t wait for the whole world to see what we’ve made!”
