Following its recent acquisition by R&R Ice Cream, Fredericks Dairies has announced the arrival of Terry’s Chocolate Orange 3 Pack to the convenience and grocery market.
After its successful launch as an exclusive limited edition in partnership with a major retailer last year, Terry’s Chocolate Orange 3 Pack is set to roll out across the UK and Ireland this winter at a RRP of £3.39.
Fredericks Dairies first launched Terry’s Chocolate Orange 3 Pack in partnership with a national retailer last year and in the four weeks prior to Christmas 2012, it became the number one handheld ice cream product in that leading retailer. It quickly achieved a 2.4 per cent share of the chocolate sticks sub-category and successfully recruited new shoppers into the market, with 60 per cent of sales being incremental and the brand seeing a high repeat purchase rate.
The brand is understood well by consumers and Terry’s Chocolate Orange 3 Pack will undoubtedly attract an already loyal fan base plus new consumers, as it is best placed to take advantage of the festive season occasion that the parent brand is already so synonymous with. The segment-shaped ice cream delivers visual appeal and the unique flavour profile of the ice cream – a combination of smooth vanilla ice cream with a chocolate orange sauce, covered in milk chocolate with real orange oil – is an identical mixture to its confectionary sibling, attracting those looking for an indulgent snack for evenings at home with friends and family and the big night in occasion.
