Festive fudge range
Cornish fudge producer The Buttermilk Confectionery Co has launched a new range of special Christmas products for 2014. Packaged in festive-themed boxes, the new fudge products come in three flavours: Scrummy All Butter Vanilla, Luxury Christmas Pudding and Indulgent Irish Cream.
Exhibiting at this year’s Speciality & Fine Food Fair, the award-winning Buttermilk Confectionery Co is a family-run business that has been producing handmade fudge since the opening of its flagship shop in Padstow in 1964. All of Buttermilk’s fudge is made using traditional methods in open copper pans and then left to cool overnight in wooden trays to guarantee a smooth and creamy texture.
All three products come in 100g boxes with a RRP of £1.99 each: Scrummy All Butter Vanilla Fudge is made with real Cornish butter and is crumbly and smooth. It was awarded Silver Taste of the West 2013 and Great Taste Gold 2012. Luxury Christmas Pudding Fudge is a new Buttermilk product, which is creamy and crammed with fruit and nuts, Christmas spices and brandy. Indulgent Irish Cream Fudge is made with real Irish Cream liqueur. It was awarded a Great Taste Gold 2014 and Bronze Taste of the West 2014.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the family business is run by David and Tracy Goad who left their jobs in London to take over the company from David’s parents in 2010. In addition to over 70 flavours of fudge, Buttermilk also produce brittles, toffees, truffles, marzipans, Turkish delight and ices.
