Individual cake squares
Kate’s Cakes has launched its new ‘Cake Squares’ product range into Tesco stores nationwide.
The homemade-style cakes are available in three flavours. Aimed at women who want an indulgent treat either during the day at home or with their lunch ’on the go’, the cakes are individually wrapped and sold in packs of five.
The three flavours are Chocolate Fudge Cake, a rich chocolate cake, topped with a delicious buttercream and decorated with double chocolate curls; Classic Lemon Drizzle Cake combines a zesty delicate lemon sponge, drizzled with lemon juice and hand finished with sugar pearls; and Millionaire Shortbread, all butter shortbread with a generous layer of gooey caramel, topped with thick milk chocolate.
Commentating on the launch, Stacey Moore, product manager for Kate’s’ Cakes, says: “We are investing in the premium sector of the cake market with our high quality product, which will boost the sector as a result of an increase in demand. The small cakes market has seen year-on-year growth, clearly demonstrating the strength of the sector and we feel there’s a real opportunity to grow the market even further and fill a gap for premium small cakes. The three variants mean there’s something for everyone and they suit a number of occasions from lunchtime to the perfect accompaniment to relaxing at home with a cup of tea.”
