Handcrafted American cookies from Northern Ireland

Consumers in the Republic of Ireland are developing a taste for American-style cookies – from Northern Ireland. Big Ted’s American Cookies has recently won business for its full range of distinctively American, handcrafted cookies and is now supplying specialty food stores and coffee shops in the Dublin area.
A Great Taste Award winner in 2010, Big Ted’s Cookies are now on sale in a range of outlets including cafes such as O’Brien’s and Bon Espresso, as well as, Fallon and Byrne Food Hall in Dublin and Dundrum-based Fleming’s Fine Foods.
The deals are the first secured by Big Ted’s outside Northern Ireland where the company already supplies around 100 outlets. Business has doubled over the past year.
The Company was formed in 2006 by Ted Jensen, a native of California, who saw a gap in the market from the developing café culture trend and decided to launch the cookies at local Farmers’ Markets. “I realised that the cookies available just weren’t the same as my granny taught me to make – chewy on the inside and slightly crunchy on the edges so I decided to introduce American cookies to the Northern Ireland market. Winning business in the Republic is a huge boost for the company,” he says. “It’s a key element in our growth strategy to develop business throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom.”
The current range includes the Classic American, M&M, Triple Chocolate Chip, Blondie White Chocolate and other favourites such as the Snickerdoodle, Raspberry Razzler, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, the Monster and our seasonal favourites.
