Family owned Aunt Bessie’s is taking its much-loved brand into the ambient cake category for the first time with an exciting new range of nine traditional cakes and pastries. The range will be brought to market through a licensing agreement with Bright Blue Foods.

The cake range featuring family favourites such as tarts, loaf cakes and sharing cakes, will be launching in the UK in Tesco from May 2015 in the ambient cake aisle. The choice of flavours is a result of consumer research, which showed that people were looking for good quality, every day cake.

The tart range features hand finished almond Bakewell tarts, raspberry and coconut tarts and jam bakes. Each four pack of tarts, MRRSP £1.25, is an ideal treat for smaller households.

The hand finished loaf cakes are available in three flavours: carrot cake (featuring a moist carrot sponge with a real cream cheese frosting and a dusting of cinnamon); a sticky ginger cake, made with real stem ginger; and a jam and coconut cake, a light, coconut sponge injected with raspberry jam and hand-finished with coconut flakes. The loaf cakes’ MRRSP is £1.50.

Aunt Bessie’s Round Sharing Cakes are perfect for sharing with friends and family, and make an ideal Sunday roast finisher. There are three traditional favourites to choose from: carrot cake, with cream cheese frosting and finished with nibbed walnuts; a moist, lightly fruited cake; and a rich chocolate cake, made with real milk chocolate; filling the gap between value sponges and premium cakes. Each sharing cake has an MRRSP of £2.30.
