tic tac, from Ferrero is launching Spearmint Twist, a refreshing new addition to its popular range. Featuring white and mint-green tic tac drops of different flavour intensities, the pack will be available from the end of June.
Spearmint Twist replaces the existing spearmint flavour. The new design is lighter and brighter, with clear packaging to match the rest of the range. In consumer trials, the new look has resulted in a 50% uplift in purchase intent.
“tic tac is currently experiencing 12% growth as the fastest growing top 10 brand in pocket confectionery, with a key part of our recent success being the popularity of Strawberry Fields, which has drawn in new shoppers, and is worth £2.85m in just nine months”, comments Levi Boorer, customer development director. “Now we are looking to replicate the success we have seen with fruit, in mints, the most valuable segment of pocket confectionery. Our research shows that Spearmint Twist is set to be even more popular with shoppers than Strawberry Fields and we are confident we will be driving further incremental sales for retailers.”
Spearmint Twist will benefit from a £3.6m investment in the wider tic tac brand as part of Ferrero’s ambitious plans to double the size of its UK business. Impulse purchases are crucial for the mints sector of pocket confectionery and Ferrero has developed impulse specific POS to capitalise on this by raising visibility in store. Counter top units are for sale in all good wholesalers with the opportunity to request POS on the Ferrero website.
