Mars leadership roles

Mars Chocolate UK has announced that Michele Oliver will move from her role as UK strategy director to lead its UK marketing organisation as vice president of marketing. The promotion follows the move of former UK marketing VP, Michael Magee, to head up Mars Chocolate’s marketing function for Europe and Eurasia.

Oliver has worked for Mars for more than 20 years and has experience across the Mars business including sales and manufacturing, before holding a range of marketing leadership roles at a local, regional and global level. She has spent the past two years leading the UK business strategy as part of the UK management team.

Mars Chocolate UK president, Blas Maquivar says: “Michele combines a great energy and passion for our brands and our people and I’m excited that she will be leading our marketing organisation, helping to bring our best loved brands to life.”

Oliver will take up the role from 23 February.

Mars Chocolate has also announced that Lucy Cotterell will succeed Oliver in the role of UK strategy director and join its UK management team. Cotterell joined the business in 1997 and has spent her career in a variety of European and UK marketing roles, most recently as Mars, Snickers and Twix marketing director. An announcement on her replacement will be made in the coming weeks.

“Lucy and Michele bring a wealth of experience and insight. I’m confident that we have the right team in place to continue to deliver for our customers and consumers,” Maquivar adds.
