Miss Penny Penguin launched

Bonds Confectionery has unveiled its first character bag range of sweets, Miss Penny Penguin, which is now available to retailers across the UK.
Following on from the success of its 39p and traditional sweet shop range, Miss Penny Penguin is the first release of its character bags, which will be part of a standalone range scheduled for full release by the end of the year. Available in two sizes, Miss Penny Penguin strawberry flavoured gums come in a 70g bag and retail at 49p, while the larger mixed flavour 150g bag, Miss Penny Penguin & Friends, is price marked at 99p.
Developed to appeal to the consumer wanting a value snack without compromising on quality, the strawberry flavoured gums in Miss Penny Penguin and mixed fruit Miss Penny Penguin & Friends have been designed to appeal to a wide audience, from children to adults with its chewy texture, fun persona and great flavours.
In keeping with the aim to produce a product which appeals to a wide customer base, the packaging has been carefully designed using unique soft touch bags with pastel and black colouring, making the product stand out on shelf, retailer hooks or simply in Bonds Confectionery’s shelf ready packaging.
To further cement its appearance on the market, the recipe is free from artificial colours and uses natural flavours, an approach which is proving popular with the consumer.
Philip Courtenay- Luck, managing director of Bonds Confectionery says, “The Miss Penny Penguin character is the first launch of a number of stand alone products we plan to unveil during the course of the year and we’re keen to promote the competitive price points without compromising on quality.”
“The initial motivation of the idea around the character sweet was to add to our vast range and produce a product to sit between our more traditional Sweet Shop range of bags and the 39p kids range. Therefore we believe Miss Penny Penguin will fit in amongst our own brand offering and as a great addition to the confectionary aisle.”
