The Confectionery Production team are in Dubai this week for Gulfood Manufacturing. As well as meeting existing contacts in the industry, the exhibition has been a great chance to meet new company representatives. We’ve met a range of ingredient manufacturers, machinery suppliers and packaging firms – from Tate & Lyle to Hayssen Flexible Systems.

Based on interviews with exhibitors, the general consensus for the confectionery industry currently seems to be one of growth in the Middle East. As trends such as gelatine-free gummies and all natural products grow in popularity, companies are having to adapt their technology to meet the ever-changing demands of global consumers.

Look out for coverage of the event in our December/January issue.

And it looks like there will be no let up when we’re back in the office as we look forward to Food Matters Live in London and Health Ingredients Europe in Frankfurt. If you’d like to organise a meeting at either of the shows then please contact [email protected].

Until next time.
