ISM highlights

ISM is over for another year, and my trousers are feeling decidedly tighter after spending days roaming the halls sampling everyone’s new and exciting products.

This year’s event featured a wide variety of trends, including not only low fat and low sugar products but also confectionery and snack items for consumers with special requirements – eg lactose free, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. Further top trends are, once again, sustainability, Fairtrade and proof of origin. New flavours and combinations were also on offer.

The highlight of this year’s ISM had to be during the Brazilian Happy Hour. Confectionery Production was very excited to win an all expenses paid trip to Brazil, allowing the magazine to visit this year’s Sweet Brasil International, the largest confectionery trade fair in Latin America. Thank you so much ABICAB!
