Gaining UK listings

Slim Fruits, the healthier sweet, are due to hit even more UK shelves as Petty Wood becomes the new UK distributor for Ferndale Confectionary.

Petty Wood has worked with world famous brands such as Weight Watchers, Werther’s Originals and Lavazza.

Slim Fruit’s Luscious Peach Melba and Rhubarb & Strawberry pastilles have gained excellent growth following their launch in the UK and listings in Holland & Barrett and more than 900 Boots stores. Petty Wood’s focus in the UK market will be gaining listings for Slim Fruits with other major retailers such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda.

At only two calories each and packed with the same fibre content as six slices of wholemeal bread, Slim Fruits have proved to be the choice dieting accompaniment for many consumers with volume sales increasing 300 per cent in the past year alone.

Ferndale Confectionary’s global sales and marketing manager Leigh Edward says: “This appointment is really significant for us and will deliver a strong sales boost for Slim Fruits in the UK. The all-natural acacia tree fibre and the fact that Slim Fruits are sugar-free, fat-free and gluten-free have all proved to be major sales drivers in the past 24 months. Petty Wood will be tasked to secure national listings now that the brand has proved its staying power.”
