Cadbury releases three new Dairy Milk flavours as part of competition

Cadbury has revealed three new limited editions of its classic Dairy Milk bar which have been designed by fans as part of the company’s annual inventor competition.

The latest variants will compete for a public vote to be crowned the nation’s favourite, and include Gillian’s Milk Coconutty, Shannon’s Crunchy Honeycomb and Taylor’s Out of the Blueberry.

Last year, Cadbury, which is owned by parent company Mondelēz International, challenged the nation again to come up with new and exciting flavours for 2020’s Cadbury Inventor competition. With over 90,000 possible combinations of ingredients to choose from, 120,000 consumers submitted entries for the chance to create and name their very own limited-edition Cadbury Dairy Milk bar.

The three finalists have been on a journey to create their unique bars, travelling to the Cadbury Innovation Kitchen in Bournville, the home of Cadbury, where they worked with chocolate experts to experiment with their ingredients and make their creations a reality.

Gillian, a 36-year-old Liverpool FC fan from Northern Ireland, devised her Cadbury Dairy Milk Coconutty after being inspired by her children’s love for fresh coconut and white chocolate. Gillian’s bar includes milk chocolate with coconut crumble, studded with smooth white crisp pearls.

Meanwhile, Shannon, 19, from Nottingham, explained she created her Crunchy Honeycomb variety after declaring her love for the flavour, alongside sweet caramel. Her confectionery creation combines milk chocolate, golden crunchy honeycomb pieces with caramel flavoured fudge and chopped hazelnuts.

Taylor, a 24-year-old mother of two from Leeds, added that her entry, Out of the Blueberry, was inspired by her son, who always had a love and obsession for blueberries. Her bar consists of milk chocolate with blueberry flavoured nuggets and white crisp pearls.

Beatrice Berutti, Cadbury tablets brand manager, said: “The Cadbury Inventor 2020 competition is back for its second year and we couldn’t be more excited for retailers to share these new delicious Cadbury Dairy Milk flavours with the nation! The new range is set to be a real driver of footfall and excitement in store for retailers across the nation, and we can’t wait to see which bar wins.”

Shoppers will be able to vote for their favourite new flavour on the www.cadburyinventor.com website and via Cadbury’s Twitter and Facebook pages until 6 September 2020.
