Modern Bakery Moscow

This year’s Modern Bakery Moscow event, which took place  23-26 April, saw 98 Russian and 114 international exhibitors gathering to present their brands.

Over 15,000 visitors from 43 countries had the opportunity to learn about the latest trends and developments of the industry during four days of the exhibition. 27 percent of all visitors came from industrial bakeries, 20 percent from the confectionery and sweets industries and 15 percent from bakery machinery manufacturers. Further industries represented were: ingredients, smaller bakeries, wholesale and retail, HoReCa, packaging and ice cream.

Highlights of the event included:  special workshops titled “Business models of baking – MIWE smart engineering” and “Industrial solutions for the classical dough processing” from strategic sponsers of the event, Diosna and Miwe; a seminar titled “Russian bakery – new formats – promising solutions for business: from raw-materials to sales” from Saf- Neva / Lesaffre and a seminar on cooling and refrigeration, which took place for the fourth time in cooperation with Mr. Grahn (GfB).

Another highlight of the anniversary event was the first Moscow Confectionery Art Cup, supported by Mr. Robert Oppeneder (pastry chef and owner of the company Sweet Art), the President of the Russian Chefs Association Mr. Victor Belyaev and the pastry chef Elena Suchkova (owner of the Russian chocolate school).

During three exhibition days the participants competed in four different categories: ‘best sugar showpiece’, ‘best chocolate showpiece’, ‘best young confectioner’ and ‘best confectioner’.

The next Modern Bakery Moscow will take place from April, 22-24, 2015 at the Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow.
