Ninja dog to guard chocolate

This March German biscuit brand Bahlsen is launching a marketing campaign with the strapline ‘Dogs that Demand Respect’ for its Pick Up! chocolate bar brand. This is a nationwide hunt to find a ninja dog to be apprentice to Pick Up!’s much loved Ninja Chihuahua mascot whose quest it is to guard the Pick Up! chocolate bars.

The Pick Up! Ninja Chihuahua was originally introduced in 2014 with a £4 million marketing spend, including two bursts of TV activity including the ‘Chocolate That Demands Respect’ TV advertisement.

The campaign will call on consumers to upload videos of their own ninja pets onto the brand’s Facebook page to be in with a chance of being selected as the sixth finalist alongside the five dogs already shortlisted. Consumers will then be able to vote for the dog they feel demands the greatest respect. The #ChocNinja campaign will be supported by a series of product give-aways and an extensive social media plan.

Classic Pick Up! Milk Chocolate is a thick slab of milk chocolate sandwiched between two crisp biscuits. Also now available is the Pick Up! Black ‘N White – a slab of white chocolate perfectly complemented by two crisp chocolate flavoured biscuits.
