Mondelēz capitalises on Halloween

Mondelēz International is bringing back its Halloween best sellers and adding new products to the range this year to help drive impulse purchases.

From the Cadbury brand, this will include the Cadbury Ghooost Egg, a chocolate egg filled with gooey white fondant, as well as the Cadbury Crunchy Spider, chocolate filled with green crispy bites.

New for 2017 is Maynards Bassetts Creepy Chews, which includes individually wrapped chew sweets with a soft filled centre in two flavours – orange and strawberry.

Halloween is now worth £470 million ($622.1m), twice the size it was in 2007, according to IRI data from last year. Owing to the fact that confectionery is purchased in abundance during this time of year, it provides huge scope for retailers to capitalise on consumer demand.
