Perfetti van Melle introduces Halloween treats

The Fruittella and Chupa Chups products had a 63% uplift during Halloween 2010. Perfetti Van Melle is therefore hoping to maximise this popular family season of the year again in 2011 with the launch of the new addition in its Halloween range of themed Chupa Chups and Fruittella bags.

The new Fruittella Spooky Family Mix is offering the consumer individually packed sweets not only in different flavours, but also with the Halloween characters of a vampire, a witch and few more spooky ones. The bags are aimed at parents with children and children aged 6-14 years.

Halloween is the most important time of the year for the sugar confectionery market in the UK. UK consumers are following in their American counterpart’s footsteps with trick or treating and costume parties becoming increasingly popular. 

Mark Stangroom marketing director from Perfetti van Melle comments, “A themed bag has a stronger appeal for the Halloween consumers, who will be looking for value for money bags with lots of product inside. We are confident that these special edition bags will have a strong impact on sales during Halloween.”
